Alberto Settimo Rigato

On April 7, 2021 Alberto Settimo Rigato former chef of Sabatino's Restaurant, beloved son of Settimo and Nellie Rigato; dear brother of the late Giovanni Rigato; uncle of Marlena and Brigid; devoted friend of Lyubomir Staridolsky and Rosanna M. Biscotti. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

Alberto was born in Bolzano, Italy. He served in the Italian Alpine Division and spoke four languages. Alberto had an Agricultural Degree he used to build a fresh herb garden (you see in the photos) to use in his cooking. He also loved baking and creating recipes.

A memorial mass celebrating Alberto’s life will be held at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church on Monday, April 19 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers. Donations may be directed to the ASCPA, 424 E. 92nd St., New York, NY 10128-6804 or ascpa.org.
