Falling Asleep in the Lord
With faith in the Resurrection and the eternal mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, we humbly announce the falling asleep in the Lord of Mrs. Anastasia Sarioglou (née Savopoulos) on January 27, 2025, at the blessed age of 91. A devoted servant of God, Mrs. Sarioglou was the beloved wife of the late Athanasios “Tom” Sarioglou and a loving mother to Nikolaos “Nick” Sarioglou and his wife Jerri, and Kiriaki “Koula” Cozmo and her husband Theodore “Ted”. She was a cherished grandmother to Athanasios Sarioglou, Christos Sarioglou, Georgios Sarioglou, Anastasia Sarioglou and her husband Ryan, Dan Cozmo, and Anastasia Cozmo, and a dear sister to Ioannis & Dimitrios Savopoulos, Eleni Lazarides, and the late Kiriaki. A faithful and dedicated parishioner of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church for over 60 years, Mrs. Sarioglou lived a life of devotion, love, and service, always guided by the light of Christ.

Αἰωνία ἡ μνήμη αὐτῆς! May her memory be eternal!
"It has been a long and arduous journey. I was born in Crimea, USSR, in 1933, in a land where the Pontic Greeks had lived since antiquity. Amid the tides of history, my parents and I were forcibly deported to Northern Greece, where we spent over twenty years rebuilding our lives.
In 1963, we made the difficult decision to leave once more. We sold everything we had and embarked on a new chapter in the United States, a place that would become our final home. Here, we must adapt, for this is where our journey will end. Yet, through every sacrifice and every challenge, I find solace in knowing that the lives of my children will be easier."
