Weber; Dear daughter of the late John and Lucy Tana; Devoted mother of Danielle Patrice Rosier and cherished grandmother of Lucia Grazia Rosier and Gianni Luca Rosier; Loving sister of Frederick Tana (Saundra), Maryann Tana, Lucille Tana (Philip), and the late Thomas Tana and Patricia Tana Ford. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends, and not to forget her beloved fur baby, Piccolo.

Clara was a beloved beautician, dedicated family member, and cherished friend. Clara passed away peacefully on July 27th at the age of 83 in her home surrounded by her family. A devoted mother, grandmother and loving aunt, she will be remembered for her incredible talent, dry sense of humor, love of food and Italian culture, generosity, and passion for life.

Clara had a remarkable career spanning over 65 years as a beautician. She completed training at the Vidal Sassoon Academies in London and Paris. First working at Phyllis’s Salon in Highlandtown, she moved on to establish Jolie Danielle Salon and continued to do hair until her death.  She brought beauty and confidence to countless clients and was known for her warm, welcoming nature. Her dedication to her craft was matched only by her devotion to her family and community.

A fashion icon in her own right, Clara had a flair for style that was truly her own and was rarely seen without  her signature leopard print. She was also an extraordinary cook, renowned for her delicious Italian cookies and comforting soups, which she lovingly shared with friends and family. Her kitchen was a place of joy and togetherness, where everyone felt welcome.  Long before the term “foodie” became popular, Clara May was a true connoisseur of good food. She had a passion for discovering new cuisines and often planned her outings around where to eat next, savoring every culinary adventure.

She had a love for travel, and traveled extensively throughout Europe. She visited Italy, Germany, Austria, Holland, the United Kingdom, France, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Poland. She organized annual shopping trips to New York City during Christmas, where she delighted in the festive atmosphere and vibrant culture.   But her true love was Italy. She went on many heritage tours meeting with extended family on both the Graziaplena and Tana sides through the Abrruzo region.

Clara was an avid fan of classic films and Broadway shows, with a particular fondness for the music of Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra. Her love for the arts was a reflection of her vibrant spirit and zest for life.

A devout member of Our Lady of Pompei Church, Clara was actively involved in her community. Her generosity knew no bounds, as she often went out of her way to care for others, especially the ladies she served and supported in the community. She was a regular at assisted living facilities, and would regularly visit many to do residents hair. Her kindness, compassion, and selflessness left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
