Jose Herrera

On October 7th, 2020, Jose Herrera; loving husband, beloved father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 68. As a family man, an active member of his church, and a longtime employee at Akehurst Landscape Service Inc., he was loved and cherished by many. In addition to regularly attending church, he also enjoyed gardening, helping others, and spending time with his wife and family. He had a very bright and positive attitude and was kind to everyone he met. He touched the lives of many with his generosity and compassion and planted seeds in the hearts of everyone he met. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Isabel Solis Herrera; his beloved children Luis Alonzo Rivas Herrera, Celina De Rivas De Brizuela, Alberto Jose Rivas Herrera; his step children Zuleyma Mercedes Garcia, Elvis Adonai Solis, David Solomon Solis; and his dear siblings Alonzo Herrera and Maria Herrera. He is also survived by his grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends. He will be greatly and sincerely missed.  

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12 from 9 to 11am in the funeral home of Charles S. Zannino Funeral Service, P.A. 263 S. Conkling Street, Baltimore, MD 21224. The prayer service will begin at 11am at the funeral home. Interment Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, 7401 German Hill Road, Dundalk, MD 21224.

A mask must be worn and social distancing must be observed at all times in the funeral home and at the cemetery. For the safety of our employees, family members, and other visitors, we ask if you are not feeling well or have a cough or fever please refrain from attending any visitations, prayer services, or funeral masses. El 7 de octubre de 2020, José Herrera; Amado esposo, amado padre y abuelo, falleció a la edad de 68 años. Como hombre de familia, miembro activo de su iglesia y empleado desde hace mucho tiempo en Akehurst Landscape Service Inc., fue amado y querido por muchos. Además de asistir regularmente a la iglesia, también disfrutaba de pasar tiempo con su esposa y familia, ayudar a los demás, y la jardinería. Tenía una actitud muy brillante y positiva y era amable con todos los que conocía. Tocó la vida de muchos con su generosidad y compasión y plantó semillas de gozo y amor en los corazones de todos los que conoció. Le sobreviven su amada esposa, María Isabel Solis Herrera; sus queridos hijos Luis Alonzo Rivas Herrera, Celina De Rivas De Brizuela, Alberto José Rivas Herrera; sus hijastros Zuleyma Mercedes García, Elvis Adonai Solis, David Solomon Solis; y sus queridos hermanos Alonzo Herrera y Maria Herrera. También le sobreviven sus nietos y muchos otros parientes y amigos amorosos. Lo extrañaremos grandemente y sinceramente.
