Julia M. Bauer, known to her family and closest friends as “Noodle” or “Noot,” passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at the age of 72.
Julia will be greatly missed by her husband Richard (Dick or Dickie) of 53 years, children Tracy Bauer and Erica Collins, Kimberly and Jim Soltysiak, Richard Jr. and Lauren Bauer, four grandchildren Dylan Collins Bauer, Katie and Matthew Soltysiak and Zoey Bauer, and siblings Philip (Junie) Theis, Jr., Rose Tirabassi, Geraldine (Bo) Colabella and Linda Mason. Julia was the daughter of the late Philip and Theresa Theis.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, who was always trusted for her caring support and guidance. She enjoyed traveling, especially with family, to Disney World, Las Vegas, and the Southwest, and on Caribbean cruises in later years. She also loved summertime in Ocean City.
She lived her entire life in Baltimore and Baltimore County and was a devoted member of Our Lady of Pompei Catholic Church in Highlandtown since her childhood. She retired from the Maryland Department of Transportation, where she worked at the Key Bridge for more than 20 years.
A visitation will be held in the funeral home of Charles S. Zannino Funeral Service, P.A. 263 S Conkling Street (at Gough) Baltimore, MD 21224 on Thursday, June 11, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be a funeral Mass at noon on Friday, June 12 at St Ursula Catholic Church, 8801 Harford Rd. Parkville, MD 21234. A mask will be required by all visitors in the funeral home and church.
