On February 14, 2022 M. Joseph "Joey", "Uncle Joe" Sperato, Jr. Athletic Facilities Supervisor and coach at CCBC, Essex Campus beloved husband of Lucia V. Sperato (nee Vitale); loving son of the late Marion and Leona Sperato; son in law of Frances Vitale and the late Dominic "Dude" Vitale; dear brother of Margaret M. Trotta and her husband John and the late Joan L. Kidd (Lefty Kidd); cherished uncle of Bethany Gross and fiance Norman, David S. Kidd and his wife Victoria, Marlo Trotta, Heather M. Lynch and her husband Ben, Sean Mulcahy (Godchild) and his wife Amber, Megan Connelly and her husband Steven, Christopher Rippie, Francis Dix, Andrew Dix, David Dix, Dominic Dix, Natalie Lybrook, Christen Eastman; great uncle of Matthew and his wife Brianna, Dylan, Quinn, Abby, Sydney, Lacy, Aria and Sebastian; Godfather of Luca Maler; brother in law of  Maria Rippie, Anna Lybrook, Donna Dix and her husband Francis and the late Donald Lybrook, Jr. and John Rippie. Also survived by many other loving relatives, friends and coworkers.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Pompei Catholic Church, 3600 Claremont Street on Friday, February 18 from 2 to 7pm and on Saturday11am to 3pm. Parking will be available at Zannino Funeral Home lot. A Catholic prayer service will be held at St. Clement Mary Hofbauer Catholic Church, 1212 Chesaco Avenue on Monday, February 21 at 10am.
