Rose Paetow Obituary

Rose Angelina Paetow (nee Cerra), passed away suddenly on October 24, 2024 at the age of 90. She was the loving mother of Sandra L. Saman (husband Mansour), Patricia A. Oliver (husband Michael), Glenn M. Paetow (wife Victoria), and Angela J. Kakar (husband Abdullah). She is the devoted sister of Joseph Cerra. Rose was predeceased by her late husband Henry J. Paetow, her parents Santo and Angelina Cerra, and predeceased by her siblings: August Ruggiero, Jimmy Ruggiero, Louise Victoria, Anna Ruggiero, John Cerra, Michael Cerra, Frank Cerra, Mary Volpe, and Emilio “Buck” Cerra. She is the cherished grandmother of Glenn Paetow, Jr., Paul Paetow, Jordan Oliver, Madison Oliver, Taylor Oliver, Cameron Oliver, Danielle Saman, Piercen Kakar, Giana Kakar, and Noellia Kakar. She is the dear great-grandmother of Evelyn Paetow, Sofia Paetow, Nolan Paetow, Dylan Paetow, Lucy Paetow, and Rhys Paetow.

Rose grew up in Highlandtown and graduated from Patterson High School. She resided in Perry Hall from 1967 to the present. She was a homemaker for many years and then entered the workplace as a hostess at The Red Fox Restaurant. She later worked for a physical therapist for many years. She earned her nickname, “Rockin’ Rosie” because she was a social butterfly who was always on the go. She loved traveling, dancing, bus trips and playing bingo. She most cherished sharing a good meal with her friends and family. Rose was a devout Catholic whose faith was of the utmost importance to her. She attended weekly Bible studies at St. Joseph church for over 40 years. She volunteered at Franklin Square Hospital, visiting and administering Communion to the sick.

A celebration of life service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fullerton, MD (8420 Belair Road) on November 9th at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to St. Joseph Church.
